Book Review

Addressing (from a fictional standpoint), the long sought after truth about  government corruption and the obscuring of possible alien contact, UFO sightings and alien integration into the human race Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project by author Daniel P. Douglas transports readers with breakneck speed into the intense world of the science fiction /conspiracy thrillers.

A profoundly entertaining read, the book portrays the remarkable and confounding tale of Ex-FBI agent turned private detective, William Harrison. Harrison the story’s hero is a typical person; he is somewhat bored with his job and believes in the wholesomeness of a Democratic government.

However, Harrison’s life and beliefs begin to change radically after he witnesses a UFO, during a private investigation stakeout and later receives a mysterious postcard from an anonymous tipster Echo Tango containing an obscure message about a deceased conspiracy theorist. As Harrison begins to investigate, he soon finds himself deeply entangled in a machinated web of a government corruption, murder, lies, and cover-ups that center on UFOs and involves The Saint Mary Project. Purposed to hiding the truth about UFO encounters, abductions, technology, and hybridism, the covert Saint Mary Project conceals the facts from the public by any means necessary.  As Harrison begins to investigate the pieces of the growing puzzle, he finds that nothing is as it seems, as startling truths and connections are revealed.

As a first time author, Daniel P. Douglas did a phenomenal job of bringing to fruition a sophisticated thriller fraught with startling science fiction elements, plot twists, and a deeply intriguing story that builds the reader’s anticipation with an enticing and intricately woven mystery, purposed with dynamic action, realism and grounded characters. Additionally, the way he presented the military aspect of the story was authentically engaging, giving a realistically authoritative air to the book as the inner workings of the military, and its operatives are revealed.

I really enjoyed The Saint Mary Project; it was a riveting read that kept me rapt from the first to the last page.  As a true fan of the thrilling science fiction conspiracy genre, I found this to be a gripping read complete with the makings of a bestseller mystery, action, adventure and a budding romance. I particularly like the handling of the hybrid element, it is  somewhat reminiscent of the X-Files TV show, presented in a manner that is just as exciting as watching an episode of the show. I look forward to more works by this author and I highly recommend this book for fans of science fiction it is a read well worth the effort.
