Synopsis
About the Author
The author is retired after thirty-four years in practice as a nurse practitioner, certified in both family practice and in family psychiatric and mental health practice. She has a BSN from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, an MSN from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and a post graduate certificate from the University of Cincinnati. During her last twelve years of practice, she specialized in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Concurrently, the author served on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati in both family and psychiatric nurse practitioner programs during her last twenty years of practice. Widowed, she moved back to her home state of New Mexico after having lived for thirty-five years with her husband and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, except for a brief sojourn in Mobile, Alabama. For her first two years in New Mexico, the author alternated between a house in the desert and a mountain cabin, depending on her desire for heat or cold, geographically adjusting the thermostat of her HVAC. She then settled into the family cabin in the mountains for a year, enjoying mild summers and white winters with clear blue skies. Currently she alternates between NM and Ohio to be near her daughter and son-in-law and to visit friends; however, she still enjoys intervals in New Mexico’s Sacramento Mountains. The author has been writing for many years about events or observations in her daily life. She also enjoys photographing her surroundings, mostly the flowers in her garden. She is a Christ follower with an interest in encouraging other Christ followers. Her writings include scriptural references in a format that can be used for personal or small-group devotions.
