Author Interview with Michael Kravitz
PBR: Today we are talking with Michael Kravitz, author of EMP Causality.
PBR: How did you arrive at the concept of Jessica’s storyline?
Going through High School — Many young girls who were protected entered adulthood with social problems. I knew Ben’s intentions are honorable. He painted a Hollywood picture for his daughter. In the real world things do go wrong. When the bubble burst how does a parent and child readjust.
PBR: Which character was challenging to write about?
That would be Steven. He did everything by the numbers. Steven worked hard and was turned down by two females. His ego and self-worth reached a new low. Yet he never showed any bitterness towards others. Nearing the last part of my novel, I knew what his final Karma would be.
PBR: Is there a possibility of another book with the same idea?
This is the third and final chapter of this sequel. I will be writing a story about the perfect scenario for an East Coast Earthquake. A large dormant fault line goes from Northern NJ into Canada. There are very minor quakes. But the right circumstances could set it off.
PBR: How long did you take to complete the final draft of the book?
I started the novel late July 2016 and finished the final draft middle of December 2016.
PBR: What inspired you to write this book?
Both my brother and I were Engineers growing. I have heard a Dr. Carson and few others talk about the aging electrical grid in the US. With the growing threats of terrorism, an EMP strike is a vehicle that would do an enormous amount of damage. I feel EMP threats are real.
