Children are interesting beings. It’s always a joy for parents when they welcome their little baby to this world. Raising children can be challenging, especially since every parent wants to instill the best behavior in their kids. Everton Robinson takes the reader through the shaping of character in children; sowing good seeds in them.

A Child’s Guide to Wisdom by Everton Robinson is designed in an interesting way that every child would enjoy reading it. I love that the author arranged the topics in an alphabetical manner, making the reading more fun. He starts by talking about accountability, action, and awareness. The author defines accountability as being good for your own word, action as doing something even if you are not completely sure, and awareness as being tuned into the world about you. Each virtue listed will help your child build good character and be a better person in the society.

The writing style the author uses is so simple that even the youngest of school going children can read and understand the content of the book. I admire that after defining every value, the author added a wisdom payment chart and a customized certification. The wisdom payment chart is a plan that encourages the child to be on good behavior, as being good guarantees some form of reward at the end. The certification is a written commitment where the child adds their name after the child quotes the given principle (i.e. consistency, courage, creativity, discipline…) 21 times. Them quoting this will help them remember what they have learned, and therefore earn a bonus.

This book is a good guide to parents who want to raise children the right way. Seeing how it’s easy for a child to get corrupted by the world’s ways, it is crucial that parents teach their children how important etiquette and family values are. Through Everton Robinson’s book, the reader understands how one creates a righteous youngin’ from the start.

This book has very little text, yet the message given is deep. One can complete reading this book in one sitting. Every page carries wisdom that will guide a young person till old age. Though primarily written for children and young adults, I don’t see the reason why senior citizens can’t enjoy this book. I personally enjoyed every part of the book. The simple wording, wise phrases and the tone of the author when reading were all lovely.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has a young one in the house, as it reads like an encyclopedia for good morals. I suggest that every adult who feels like they lost their way at some point in life should read this book. The content is ideal for every being who wants to improve self-character and have good traits. I would read this book many times, because the content is not only prudent but also enlightening.
