Reading this book will make you more righteous, strengthen your relationship with God and those around you. Daniel Mirera compiled 23 values which I believe are important to follow if you want to be an upright person. If You Think You Can Press On! has the power of making one change their awful characters and adopt new ways. Just how many of us remember to thank God for anything? The author starts the book by highlighting why Thanksgiving is important in your day to day life. By thanking God and those around you, you get to be more blessed and win in everything you do. Thank God in every situation; in happiness, during a crisis, when going through a test, when celebrating life and in all other circumstances. The Lord loves people who appreciate him.

The best lesson I learned from this book was how to live with a purpose. Each one of us was created with a purpose. The author encouraged us not to waste our life on things that do not matter but to focus on things that are of value. I love that the author reminded us the William Barclay quote – “There are two great days in a person’s life-the day we are born and the day we discover why.” Think about it, which days are the most remarkable in your life? I learned that leaving a good legacy is an achievement. You may know your purpose but need a little motivation to see through your goals; the author encouraged us to seek God’s guidance if we happen to be in such a situation. The good Lord knows us inside out and will give us what we need if only we ask Him through prayers.

Sometimes people forget they are responsible for their actions. On accountability, the author advised that we should always take ownership of the situations we are involved in and see them through to the end. It is extremely wrong to blame others when things go wrong. Like the other values mentioned in the book, Daniel Mirera referenced events in the Bible to expound on the topics being discussed. He used the example of Paul and Timothy as written in 1Timothy 4:15-16 when tackling this subject. Some of the qualities the author extensively covered include obedience, forgiveness, giving, loving your neighbor and enemies, abiding, being prayerful and having a listening ear. If You Think You Can Press On! is a great read for people who need guidance on how to live well. You will get spiritual and general advice on living, and be knowledgeable about which verses in the Bible to read when you are looking for encouragement. Daniel Mirera is a smooth writer. His words have an influence over the reader because he knows how to handle his target audience. If You Think You Can Press On! is one of those books which one keeps reading, over and again, like a manual on life.
