One of the best things that people don’t always take note of in nature is the fact that there are still so many things waiting to be discovered. Whether it’s a new bacterial strand located in permafrost or a new species of plant found in the tropical rain forest, the world is vast and always filled with new mysteries to uncover. As the great Albert Einstein once said, “Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.” One mystery that has weighed on the minds of people all over the world is the existence of Bigfoot.

In author David Hollis’ book The Mystery of the Iatt Lake Monster—Revealed!: Squatchland the Dartigo Creek Valley Project, the author takes the experiences they had within the span of a few years in Louisiana and explores the prospect of the mysterious Bigfoot or Sasquatch not only being real, but capable of interactions with humans. Through a series of photos taken by the author, the narrative explores the pursuit of cataloguing and exploring these mysterious creatures which so many people believe exist and yet science has not been able to make records of thus far.

This was by far the most interesting book on the subject of Sasquatch. The author does a fantastic job of bringing the interest, mystery and intrigue of the hunt for Bigfoot to life in this fast paced read. The blend of the personal images taken by the author mixed with the story behind each photo allowed the novel to flow smoothly. What really stood out was the author’s admission of not being an expert in this field of study, and merely an observer who wanted to bring his experiences to light. It made the novel feel more relatable and believable as a whole from a reader’s perspective.

This is a book for anyone who has ever had a fascination with Bigfoot or unidentified creatures overall. The personal stories the author relays immediately drew me into the narrative as someone who has always been fascinated with the question of unidentified creatures living on our world and awaiting discovery. This was a wonderful read that deserves everyone’s attention. The Mystery of the Iatt Lake Monster—Revealed!: Squatchland the Dartigo Creek Valley Project by David Hollis is a whirlwind adventure. While the book does have a few grammatical errors that could benefit from some editing, overall the story was compelling and makes for one of the more personal, detailed and far reaching stories of encounters with the species known as Sasquatch. Grab your copies today and decide for yourself whether you believe Bigfoot is roaming the woods of our world.
