Sometimes a book doesn’t need to have hundreds of pages to get its point across, and Made in America 2.0 is a perfect example. This is a short read, but it is full of pertinent information on every page without any fluff. This book is for people of like minds as the Author, Mr. Warren, and I’d argue, to those who may have opposing views — I’ll explain why.

The premise of the book is straightforward in its title. The text not only lays out in easy-to-understand form why it is essential for America for us consumers to buy American, but it also advises on how to do it. The book covers other topics like speculation on the effects of changing tax rates for the manufacturing industry and how Americans can pressure major retailers into ditching cheaply made foreign products for more robust American made items.

My favorite aspect of this book is the way the information is shared in a non-partisan manner. One political party traditionally espouses this book’s ideas more than the other, but partisan beliefs do not show in the writing. Instead, what comes through is Mr. Warren’s genuine intentions to make America and American people’s lives better through a thriving economy.

It is clear that Mr. Warren is a numbers guy, but that does not make him any less of a writer. The ideas shared in this book are perfectly balanced, with sometimes complex ideas being presented with clear and concise wording most people will understand. This book is excellently formatted, too, with each chapter focusing on an idea, which is great to go back and reference each chapter as needed quickly.

Economic theories are never going to win over everyone in the room, and a theory is only a theory until it’s proven, but Mr. Warren puts forward a salient argument in this book. If you are interested in economic theory or want to expand your idea base, this is the book for you. Even if you disagree with Mr. Warren’s words, they will challenge you to think from different perspectives and may even change your point of view, if only slightly. I believe this is partially because the book is rooted in facts and not opinions and feelings.

At 97 pages, this book is the perfect length and can be read in one sitting for those who have the time, but you may find yourself wanting to go back and re-read portions before your next economics debate.
