While there are many belief systems around the world, the basic concept of faith and religion is as prevalent today as it has always been throughout most of human history. Whether you are fascinated by the faith of older cultures such as the Egyptians or Greeks and what is considered today to be mythology or more modern-day religions such as Christianity and Islam. Yet despite our need to prove one of these religions to be “right,” the inherent nature of these beliefs is the desire to do good. As Thomas Paine once said, “The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.”
In author Jeff Olson’s I Am God, I Am Jesus, I Am Allah: The Truth Will Set You Free, the writer explores the concept that everything we know about modern-day belief systems is far more connected than previously thought. In the narrative, Allah is born and continues to work on God’s plan while at the same time battling Satan and his forces. The book explores a mythology where Satan had the religious books changed a point in time in history, taking out key figures on a celestial level and replacing them with the modern interpretation of religion we know today.
This is a fascinating read. The author crafts a unique story which weaves together aspects of many different belief systems, bringing to life a new narrative in which Satan has helped to create the divide between the different cultures and belief systems himself by changing the narrative of religious texts. The story is short yet powerful, grabbing readers’ attention from the very first chapter and creating a writing style which feels personal and unique. While readers may notice some grammatical and editorial fixes which could be made in future writing, the overall narrative is creative and driving enough to keep the reader invested.
This is definitely a book for those with an interest in mythology and culture, action and adventure novels and stories that put a new spin on long-held beliefs. As a fan of mythology and how different cultures came to adopt their belief systems, I found this narrative to be interesting as it underscores a point I’ve always tried to make, which is that belief systems are far more intricately connected than people think, and perhaps finding common ground could end some of the hostility and violence our world sees. While the author presents an action-fueled fictional tale, the core concept is the same.
An imaginative, engaging and short yet powerful read, author Jeff Olson’s I Am God, I Am Jesus, I Am Allah: The Truth Will Set You Free is a must-read. The narrative is well established and the world building and mythology that ties into modern-day religions is a unique and entertaining twist, making for a one-of-a-kind story.
