Right as Rain is a story written in form of poems spread over various chapters. An initial look at the pages of the book might make one think that the poems are independent of each other. However, upon closer reading, one discovers the poems intertwine into a web of a lovely story. What stood out to me most are the forms of style used by the author. There is use of dialogue in the story even though speech marks aren’t present. Furthermore, the author’s main agenda is hidden in a flurry of words which make the book even more interesting to read. However, to decipher the book’s main agenda requires a sharp mind.

Apart from this, symbolism is used in the story in order to add a sense of mystery. The way the author incorporates these forms of styles to weave a wonderful book really stood out to me. Lovers of mystery are sure to love this book. I have classified this book as both poetry and mystery genres, because I feel its agenda cannot be deciphered easily.

Author Luellen Fletcher has created many challenging aspects of the book, which makes for a read that is very unique, and not at all mundane. The form of storytelling through a poem may be difficult for some readers, but those seeking new forms of literary communication will thoroughly enjoy Right as Rain.

It is for that reason that I think the book was intended for more mature audiences not only because of the form of storytelling used but because of some themes present in the book. The number of pages in the book also makes it convenient to read. All in all, I highly recommend the book because it goes against the more conventional ways used to write book and tell stories.
