Pardner is an exciting book to read due to the author’s technique for making the reader feel the presence of the characters. As one reads along, you get to virtually feel as if you are part of the story – even take part in the activities the characters participate in. Author Patrick M. Browning is not only brilliant in writing, he is also artistic and knows what elements to add to a story to keep the readers’ interest non-stop. Reading this book was a delight for me as I enjoyed the storyline and loved how distinct each of Browning’s characters were. This book will heighten the appreciation of the art of writing, raising the popularity of the coming-of-age genre of books and those which read like semi-autobiographies.
When reading Pardner, you get to forget about the real world for a moment. The story starts simple and soon one gets to be engrossed in the plot subconsciously. Reading Pardner and following the characters is something every literature enthusiast will love. The plot twists, drama, good conversations, and dynamic nature of characters are some of the features which made me rate this book highly. When describing a scene or character, the author uses amazingly original and proper adjectives and phrases to describe scenes, making the story more fascinating.
Pardner is about a young man who is sometimes eccentric and difficult to understand. Pardner, the main character, will have you fall in love with him – only to disappoint you as a reader in the next chapter. Like many men his age, Pardner wants to make it big and live a comfortable life. He goes through challenges before finding his true self. What I loved most about this character is how open he was to try new things. Pardner is the kind of individual who would ride horses today and think of flying planes tomorrow. He also had a charming side which made him a favorite among both men and women.
The suspense in the book keeps one eager to know what happens next. I enjoyed the plot twists and the actions which readers will not expect. Patrick M. Browning is unpredictable in his writing and that is one of the dozen things that make his writing appealing. Apart from the great storyline, I also admired how the author constructed his sentences, adding plenty of new words which young readers will learn just by reading this book. The language used is also easy to follow and the reader does not feel lost at any point in the book.
Pardner has a catchy storyline and a ton of lessons. Some of the major themes that come from the plot include family, career, romance, fatherhood, education, friendship, betrayal, and leadership. As you read the book, you can find many similarities between the character’s lives and what happens in real life. I appreciate Patrick Browning for enabling his readers to compare his art to real life.
