Is there any greater pursuit in the history of mankind other than that of immortality? To find a way of making oneself immortal is to cement your name and legacy into the very fabric of humanity’s story. Whether you become immortal through some great invention or work, or through some deed or misdeed, immortality is something we all seek to have in our own lives. The need for immortality in a physical sense is something that has become prominent in our modern world, and has even bled into the fabric of our works of fiction. As Henry Van Dyke once said, “There is only one way to get ready for immortality, and that is to love this life and live it as bravely and faithfully and cheerfully as we can.”
In author Asia L.T.’s Denial: The Infinity Series, the author shares the story of two towns, Orbis and Gehenna. In a time where ignorance is bliss and mortality is no longer present, twin brothers separated at birth are reunited, and as a result are shown the truth behind the people’s immortality and way of life, and what happens when you are forced to pay for the sins of another with their own lives.
The author did such a fantastic job of crafting this narrative. The beautiful blend of Asian mythology and culture with the historical fantasy elements really made this story feel vibrant and rich in imagery. What really made the imagery feel more alive was the style of writing the author employed. Not only did the opening chapters jump around different periods of time to reveal the shocking twists and turns the narrative was sure to take, but the writing tone and atmosphere felt very melodic and almost poetic in its delivery, making the imagery feel more colorful and heartfelt; a perfect mirror to the culture and mythos that the author told the story in.
This is the perfect read for those who enjoy fantasy books, especially those that enjoy historical fantasy and Asian mythology. As a fan of history and mythology of various cultures around the world, the reading experience proved both enlightening and entertaining, as the author developed rich and emotionally-captivating characters and really elevated the world-building to new heights.
Memorable, artfully crafted, and engaging, author Asia L.T.’s Denial: The Infinity Series is a must-read mythological and historical fantasy book! The breathtaking imagery and artfully crafted characters balanced with the rich culture and mythos that the author blended so seamlessly into the narrative. The emotional journey that readers go on as the story progresses and the cliffhanger ending will keep readers invested and eager for the next chapter in this growing historical fantasy series.
