About the Authors
Mary Anne McMahon was born and raised in Detroit. She highlights her twentieth century experience growing up in the Motor City during the height of the automotive industry in her book, The Motor City and Me: Our Story. In the late 1970’s McMahon moved to Houston. She has always had an affinity for her hometown and children. She was an elementary teacher for 28 years and later owned and operated a puppet performing business. She has previously shared her hometown recollections. Now a grandmother of elementary students she has fulfilled her dream of writing a children’s picture book.
