Over his summer break, Luke discovers true love for the first time when it is suddenly ripped away from him. In addition to dealing with this painful heartbreak, his mom drops a bomb on him. He is not who he has grown up believing he is, and his mom is not who he thought she was either. His plan to go back to college the next semester is put on hold when she tells him that she has sold their house and that they need to drop everything and move to Canada before his 21st birthday. His life becomes more extraordinary and fuller of more surprises than he could ever imagine or hope for. This novel is filled with fantasy and romance. It can be placed in the werewolf fantasy genre, but it contains many unique elements that really set it apart from similar books. It is told completely from the main character’s perspective; it avoids cliches and instead creates twists on familiar elements. But the best thing about Moon Brothers: The Brotherhood of the Blue Moon is the exciting storyline. The story is so imaginative and interesting – right from the start to the very last words. It is also rare to see such a romantic book written from a lead male character’s perspective.
