New World Order by authors Robert Slaughter and Jerry Brown is a razor-sharp dystopian novel in the Sci-Fi genre. An imminent war approaches that represent a chance to liberate different lands from tyranny and discord. For Tristan Hart, a sharp- witted and incisive VI mercenary, the future breeds opportunity and danger.

On the other hand, Atomia, a powerful but ruthless nation, seeks to expand its influence at almost any cost. Anyone standing against the great Atomia nation would be crushed. Even as treachery and combat swirl around him, Tristan realizes that he has to protect the woman he loves, confront his past ideologies and beliefs and work on stopping a looming annexation that has dire consequences.

Buoyed with inviting illustrations at the beginning of each chapter, this retro-futuristic drama by these talented authors manages to make a few soliloquizing cameos that bring out the novel’s conscience. The character creation and development are superb and help in differentiating the characters’ roles and personalities. Also, the relationship between AI creatures and humans is exquisitely layered. Beneath this, is a battle for dominance, possible annihilation, and a new global initiative.

Similar to a medieval troubadour, Slaughter and Brown writes with keen precision and finesse. They artfully handle Tristan and Eliza’s romance giving them ample time to get to know each other. The narrative is clear-eyed about the ways that AI could enable violence and peace. New World Order deftly reveals the lengths people will go to protect those they love, to survive, or simply attain more power along with what truly defines humanity and consciousness. For readers, witnessing the key protagonists on their quests is psychologically thrilling. This is because their journey is rigged with obstacles by opposing sides as each scene holds your attention until the end.

Ultimately, New World Order by Robert Slaughter and Jerry Brown is a genre-bending action-packed thriller full of adventure, duplicity, and AI robots. The concept in the book takes a little while to get used to but once onboard, there is no stopping the whirlwind of action and intrigue. Further, the undercurrent politics and probing of the limits of the human soul further hoists this book.

Conclusively, New World Order undoubtedly provides unmatched literary nourishment to its fans.
