Book Review
Burning Desire is a collection of one score and ten love poems, sonnets and verse, set to the rhythm of the heartbeat of young man’s emerging awareness of the pain and elation of love. Theodore V. Prime sets himself apart from fellow wordsmiths of his generation by candidly revealing his own growing passion for women, known only to him, as he wrote his heartfelt feelings creating an articulated gift bouquet of love.As difficult it is to pick a favorite flower, I enjoyed and was impressed with perhaps his most terse of poems, called Loved Right. As Theo Prime wrote:
Hold me tight
Let no love go
Kiss for free
Let passion flow
Look at me
We see the night
Release me never
Hold on tight
Apart we’re weak
United, strong
I want no right
If love be wrong
An anthology of love poems, Theodore V. Prime shows a kind and gentlemanly generosity of emotional trust, wearing his heart not on his sleeve but rather in his book. Conveying a sense of epic bewilderment over the forces of feminine attractiveness, one sees in Theo’s writing the respect for the bond of friendship and trust as being the foundation for lifelong companionship. Diametrically opposed to the scribacious messaging of Rap musicians and Hip Hop artists, Theodore V. Prime follows in the wake of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, echoing Lord Byron’s She Walks in Beauty. These are men of honor, exhibiting utmost kindness, unequivocal faith, with true lust restrained.
Clad in original cover art depicting the flame of passion, Burning Desire makes a thoughtful gift book for couples to enjoy. It heralds the achievement of years of reason, focusing at a point in which, like a trampoline, Theo Prime can spring forth and reemerge with grandeur of future accomplishments. Based on his learned wisdom gained by experience, Burning Desire is a memorable trophy of Theodore V. Prime’s self expression, a welcomed written voice of poetic definitions of love. Whether you are a hopeless romantic or enjoy thinking about the many aspects of love, you will find Burning Desire, decorates the soul with heartfelt visuals of passion. This book would make a great Valentine’s Day present and a worthy addition to any poetry lover’s collection.
