We face many obstacles in life. Whether we suffer losses, live with financial strain, or have suffered physical or emotional abuse, how we get through these obstacles is the key to how we move forward. While this can be harder for some than others it helps to have a support system which works or you. For the main character in author Audrey Marr’s book Aimee’s Restoration, a strong relationship with God is the key to putting her on the right path.
Aimee is a single mother trying to ensure her son Jeremy has a full and bright future. She is also dealing with a good amount of post-traumatic stress from an abusive relationship with her former husband. The latter has created a wall between Aimee and any man who would try to get close to her and win her heart. A friendship she strikes up with a woman by the name of Jane leads to a meeting with Rob, Jane’s cousin. When Rob expresses clear interest in Aimee it is not something she is ready to dive into given her past, but Rob is not easily deterred and his determination may just win Aimee’s heart. The road is not an easy one throughout the book considering the abuse Aimee has endured, but her newly found relationship with God is instrumental in carrying her through.
Author Audrey Marr does an exceptional job of weaving a story with characters you can both relate to and care about. We understand Aimee’s hesitation in her relationships all while wanting more for her. Rob is a very likeable suitor, but I like how the author didn’t hesitate to show a character flaw which greatly impacts the story. This definitely opens a door to giving Aimee a chance of doing something that would ultimately change the course of her life. I can appreciate how faith was woven into this story and played its own role in the main character’s trials and tribulations.
If you enjoy a story that incorporates romance, life struggles and religious awakening, then I would highly recommend Audrey Marr’s Aimee’s Restoration. This title provided the right amount of love, drama and uplifting storyline to round out a good core story. I’m sure it would be a good addition to your reading nook.
