Are there angels among us? Walking the earth, guiding our decisions, and watching over our every move? In Joann Klusmeyer’s Angel on Assignment, there are. They have worked in the past and are here in the present.
Have you ever been promoted to do something or to refrain from an action without knowing why? Angels on Assignment can you give one theory as to why. Beginning with Millicent, a young girl trying to find her place in the world, angel 734 and comrades guide her not only across country but to a whole new life. These girls who traveled were led by multiple ways to a place where they were not only needed but where they were meant to be: a newspaper clipping for hired help, a letter from an aunt they had never heard of. All this led to Oklahoma and a new beginning. The girls came from rough backgrounds, many from the girl’s home, but all were able to find the faith to just trust and follow the promptings.
The girls’ journey not only brought them peace, but they also blessed the town where they were directed to. Friendships and marriages followed, along with teachers and healers. I wonder if I would have been willing to trust when nothing made sense.
In the book, we find that this is not a coincidence that just happened for these girls. Throughout the ages, particularly in the Bible, there are instances of great feats that resulted from angels guiding, leading, and prompting. After all, the Boss could not handle it all on His own.
I really enjoyed this book. Not only do I find the thought of heavenly beings guiding our paths comforting, but the book was also well-written. The author was able to tell multiple stories at once, switching here and there, without disrupting the flow of the book. I found myself wanting more and not wanting to put the book down.
