Pacific Book Review

It is impossible to put Annihilation down once you get into the plot. Author Kaylin McFarren’s book never stops being compelling. The drama, intense plot, crazy storyline and excellent narration are some of the best elements in the book. When Kaylin McFarren narrates a story, she ensures the readers gets the plot and gets to love every bit of the storyline. Reading Annihilation will make you appreciate the craft of writing and fall in love with fiction – especially the sub-genres of fantasy and occult horror. The author is creative as her characters, the scenes, and the development of the story will have you hooked. Kaylin McFarren is a remarkable author because she goes out of her way to make the story thrilling, so that her readers would enjoy the book.

Annihilation is the kind of book where Kaylin McFarren takes you out of this world, to a different world, where you virtually get to live in stirring conditions and go through extreme but also amusing experiences. In Annihilation, we follow the story of Queen Lucinda, the queen of hell. Lucinda is not one to be messed with. She is lethal, good when you are on her side but toxic and dangerous when she perceives you as a threat. Queen Lucinda took over from Lucifer, and in an attempt to take charge, got on a wrong footing with some parties; including the Black Crows and the Knights of Darkness.

The battle between the disputing parties in the book is attention-grabbing and captivating to follow. As a reader, one gets the impression of being a part of the arguments and fights, and even may attempt to side with some quarters. I like how engaging Kaylin McFarren is, never throttling back on the action. I appreciate how the story develops, as every new chapter has something more striking than the previous chapter. Will Queen Lucinda manage the throne like Lucifer?  How good is Samara compared to Lucinda? You get to follow the juicy story with a chill running down your spine because of how wild some storylines get to be. Annihilation will have you concentrate on reading which will make you oblivious to any other things you were to do.

As a reader, you never know what to expect thanks to the plot twists. The action and drama are also entertaining and keep one engrossed. Annihilation is never short of suspense; every new mini story has suspense. The tension among characters, superb chemistry displayed by the main characters and the distinct traits make the book worth reading. Annihilation checks every box when it comes to enjoyable reads.
