Today we’re talking with Miguel De Leon, author of “The Unicorn”.
1. PBR: What was your inspiration for this book?
Just the knowledge that all families have challenges, and I wanted to express those challenges in a way that was easier for readers to identify with.
2. PBR: What was the most difficult aspect of this story to write?
I suppose I didn’t want to be too heavy handed with what the twins were going through. I wanted to express the feelings they had, without being too dramatic.
3. PBR: What did you learn from writing this novella?
I learnt that all families have challenges…but that doesn’t mean that love is not present in that dynamic.
4. PBR: Is there a particular message in this story that readers should understand?
Yes…I guess it would be understanding. We all go through challenges, but what I gathered is that we are all on the same journey, in one way or another, so judgement is really not helpful at all.
5. PBR: What books or authors have most influenced your writing?
I LOVE JK Rowling!
6. PBR: Can you recall how your interest in writing began?
I began with short stories, which lead to novels.
7. PBR: Can you tell us about your current project?
Since the “GALADRIA Fantasy Trilogy”, I wrote three urban fantasy novellas…”The Unicorn,”“Carry the Knight,”and “Dawn of the Knight.”
8. PBR: Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
I would never dream to give advice…but I guess…just go for it!!!! Tell the story your life was meant to tell!!!
9. PBR: Is there anything that you find particularly challenging in writing?
Yes…sitting at a desk all day. I know it sounds trite…but for me, it is quite the challenge!
10. PBR: Do you have anything that you would like to say to your readers?
I love you all, and thank you for all your continued support!!!!! xoxxoxox
