Author Interview Questions
Today we have the privilege to talk with author Suzanne Eglington about his new book, “Inceptions: The Kate and Robert Chronicles.”
PBR: Who would you say have been your inspirational authors?
Jeaniene Frost, Anne Rice, Jane Austen, Charlaine Harris.
PBR: Which books stand out as prime examples of the type of writing style you desire to achieve in your literary career?
Actually my goal is to write in every Genre except horror… I cannot write horror.
PBR: What would you say was that “ah-ha moment” when you realized that you wanted to write an erotic love story?
I was going through a divorce and I started and stopped with a few other stories. This one just hit me and would not stop playing out in my head.
PBR: How did you come about creating Kate’s character?
I had seen a photo of a popular actress. The photo itself was sassy, classy and she looked slightly naïve. I took that image and stripped away anything I knew about the actress and built Kate upon that single image.
PBR: How did you come about creating a European mix like Robert?
I love British television and Bally Kiss angel an Irish program was one of my favorite shows years ago. I thought Robert should have those two nationalities with a brogue he could turn on and off.
PBR: Since your story is heavily based on Kate and Robert’s relationship, why did you choose first person point of view for your narrative?
To me the story started with Kate and that single image I set up in my mind of who she is. I had a lot of fun breathing life into my characters and that was just the way it formulated for me. Just wait and see who I bring to life as the story continues.
PBR: Tells us about your unique cast since, for the most part, they seem to be totally enamored with Robert.
Robert is very confident, an overachiever and has an obsessive nature. Yet he has that naughty boy in him that makes him charming at times. He is a proctor, smart investor and physically trains hard to satisfy his dark side that he carries. Because he has achieved a lot of success at a fairly young age he has earned respect. Pepper (Kates best friend) seems to be the only one concerned that Robert is smothering Kate as she watches her best friend lose her independence to a man they really don’t know that well. As far as Kates family goes they see that Robert is set up. He is successful, has a good career in law enforcement and he just saved Kates life. They are smitten by Robert and claim him a suitable suiter for their youngest daughter. Stacey on the other hand, Kates older sister, thinks Robert is too much, too inappropriate and too full of himself.
PBR: Inceptions closes on a honeymoon note, as Kate and Robert leave for San Diego. Can you give readers a glimpse into their next adventures with your next installment You and I: the Kate and Robert Chronicles?
Sun, sand and surprises. Kate learns more about her mysterious gladiator on the first of two honeymoons. But the shocking truths unfold while they travel abroad. It’s time for her to sort out what she can handle and what she is willing to accept about Robert.
PBR: Do you see any further projects connected with the Kate and Robert Chronicles?
Yes there are 6 books in this series. Books 3, 4 and 5 will all be available by the end of 2016. There are several strong characters that I can write their story and connect with Kate and Robert.
PBR: Any different literary projects in the works?
Yes I have two. One is about the emotionally dark side of drug addiction. It will be one book and done. The second book is a humorous story about a corporate climbing lesbian and what she has to deal with in life.
