Synopsis
Knowledge of English and French vocabulary is becoming increasingly important for Chinese students of foreign languages. However, many of the dictionaries, workbooks, and textbooks available for assisting learners with the standards outlined in the Common European Framework for Reference for Language (CEFR) feature English-Chinese or French-Chinese arrangements, and so they can be less accessible to Chinese-speaking learners. In order to specifically help Chinese-speaking learners approach both English and French words and phrases, this workbook features both Chinese-English and Chinese-French arrangements so that Chinese teachers and students of both English and French can quickly and easily navigate and learn these vocabularies. Designed for gradual self-study, each entry has two or three—and sometimes up to six or seven—examples with equivalent Chinese, English, and French words, phrases, and sentences, all arranged into levels consistent with the CEFR. Additionally, since more and more people in China have realized the importance of classical writing knowledge in Chinese culture, it also provides both classical and simplified Chinese ideograms. This workbook also prepares students for success in showing competencies in the CEFR’s six common references levels for Chinese, English, and French languages. The unique arrangement of the words in this book will help Chinese, English, and French-speaking learners of all ages gradually learn the vocabularies used in the highest standard levels.
