Synopsis

It is difficult to accurately describe what lies within except to say it is borne from a sometimes thoughtful, sometimes reckless, often illogical, but always imaginative, mind. The collective came into being one dreary, wet day when, bored with the thought of housework I cobbled together a raft of my passionately written rhymes and musings, which until then had lived in a dusty cardboard box under the bed. It certainly isn‛t poetry, but it does relate to many different aspects of life as viewed through the lens of an imaginative mind.

About the Author

Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Julie moved to the Northern Territory in 1970. As a mother to three daughters, she spent most of her adult life in Darwin, playing and coaching tennis and taking an active role in the delivery of public policy. In 1988, Julie was recognized in the Women’s Register for her contribution to sport in the Northern Territory community and in 2000 she was awarded the Australian Sports Medal. In 2004 Julie was admitted as an Associate Fellow to the Australian Institute of Management; in 2006 awarded the Administrator’s Sporting Role Model Medal; and in 2011 the Chief Minister’s Medal for her service to the public sector. In mid-2011, Julie, along with her partner, and beloved pets moved to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Quickly changing her written style from formal government speak to creative, she now spends her time penning anecdotes, travelling and sharing her life with her partner, daughters, six grandchildren and good friends. Whilst Julie often pens rhymes or musings she also remains committed to helping people put into words the stories they have to tell, believing it is the honest battlers from the suburbs who have some of the most sensitive, interesting and fascinating tales to share.
