Book Review
Barberetta, is an excellent title for this short, graphic E-book written by author, Greg McKinney. She turns heads wherever she goes. She’s one tough broad, a sexy blonde bombshell, definitely no angel, but the thugs Barberetta takes on make her look like a saint. You might not realize it right away, but she cares about family. Underneath her integrity is intact. If McKinney had given her a cape she might join the super-heroes, but that won’t happen because Barberetta is too saucy, to raw and too down to earth for that. This is a book written for mature audiences only. It includes displays of mob type violence and nudity.Barberetta takes on a case involving an innocent child. Attracted to the father the twists and turns are endless, but her instincts remain sharp and she won’t stop until she uncovers the plan and true motive that puts this young girl in danger. She can change her mind on a dime, but with so many double crosses can Barberetta trust the quiet old nanny? You do have to watch those silent types.
This E-book is a fast read written in first person dialogue. The comic/graphics enhance the story to make it come alive in vivid detail. The author, Greg McKinney does a good job with this, however be warned this is not a book for the judgmental or squeamish or morally scrupulous. The setting is mobster land with a theme of “kill or be killed.” Barberetta is the main character, a tough, sexy kitten who knows how to survive and have fun while she’s doing it. This book should appeal to those who can’t resist a peak into the seedy underworld or those who live on the wilder side of life. It should also speak to mystery detective types, and any not opposed to an in cold-blood type of fantasy. So, if you dare take on Barberetta, I suggest you fasten your seat belt and prepare for a lusty, yet wild and violent ride. Who knows what future plans Greg McKinney has for the pistol-packing Barberetta?
