One thing humans have always struggled to find out has been the meaning of life; what does it mean to be human. Nature all around us has a set pattern to their lives, seeds grow into plants and trees, calves turn into cows and bulls, kittens into cats and so on. But for humans there are many more paths we can take, many outcomes to who we will become as we learn and grow throughout our existence. Some may believe we are closer to finding out what our purpose is, but it may seem we are further from finding out that truth. Throwing us ‘off-key’ from the song of the planet. It could be because we do not know where to begin to find our true song. We jump in head first without answering important questions as we at times try to deny our destiny. Because we don’t take a deeper look into our true selves, we fall prey to social standards and fall into a pattern of our cultural norms. Through the author’s tale, readers are presented with helpful hints on how to find a life filled with happiness and harmony.
BodySong is a book designed to help the reader find ways to become in harmony with the world around us, and with ourselves. It helps the reader learn how to pay closer attention to the things surrounding us in a way which enables them to not only see things, but to hear and feel them as well, helping readers to not get pulled away from the beauty that abounds in our natural world. The book begins with talking about being mindful, being in the now moment as a way of eliminating worry for the future and pain from the past. This is just the introduction, but it is so powerful it makes you want to keep reading and see what author Patricia Anne Dye has to say about finding your true song and becoming in harmony with the planet.
Some other books on this topic reads like a text book, or a scientific journey. Not BodySong. It reads more like you are having a conversation with a close friend; sharing ideas and thoughts. Intermixed with quotes and narrative, readers get a well-rounded view of the author’s ideas about finding one’s harmony, including how what we eat can contribute to our sense of harmony and mindfulness. While reading this book, one gets the overwhelming feeling that Patricia Anne Dye wrote this book from the heart and put a lot of time and thought into what she wanted to say. She makes her readers think about how they are living their lives – is it to the fullest, are they finding their true song and remaining in harmony mind, body, and soul?
BodySong is a compelling and through-provoking book that touches the readers’ hearts. It is one that calls out to be read, or should I say sings out to be read. If you are looking for a book that will help you chance how you view things, change how you live, eat, interact with the world, then this is a book that needs to be read. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a change in their daily lives. This book is worth the read and time in reflection. It is so wonderfully written and entertaining to read.
