This is a textbook example of how to tell the story of the one’s life while at the same time highlighting lessons learned throughout that very same life, and then wrapping it all up into a self-help book. The author, who overcame the hardships of his early life, has used his very personal story to help readers “awaken your unconscious mind, helping you to move towards abundance.” He does this by identifying a series of strategies that will “ensure your success and financial freedom in whatever you try to do.”
What are these strategies? They are mastering what the author defines as the three basics — thinking, speaking and writing. Making these three strategies integral to daily life leads to a life of abundance … personal, financial, emotional, physical and spiritual.
There is a lot to absorb in this 426-page book. And while it is encyclopedic in the amount of practical information presented, it is far from complicated to understand. The strength of Dr. Wong’s writing is that it is rooted in a lifetime of study, observation and thoughtful contemplation about how to manifest a life of abundance. He is a devout practicer of meditation, which became his “tool of overcoming my subconscious mind resisting change.”
The 12 chapters are packed with guidance, instruction and enlightenment that Dr. Moon encourages readers to embrace with “relentless dedication and bold perseverance.” In each chapter, the author identifies a different theme and then proceeds to explain the how-to of implementation. This is where his teaching background shines. Subjects include concepts like: Developing the Mindset for Abundance; Truth Path to Wealth; Lessons on Habits of Happy People; Consciousness and Financial Freedom; and The Language of Spirituality … just to highlight a few. It would be impossible to identify the dozens of chapter sub-headings, so you’ll just have to read the book — but be sure to get your highlighter out for subsequent reference! There are charts in the financial sections to help those for whom this is an initial introduction to managing money matters and stock portfolios. Dr. Moon’s advises jumping right into this arena saying, “Immersing ourselves in the pool where the language of abundance is spoken every day can be contagious and motivating.”
I think the best advice in the entire narrative is this: “Another important factor to consider if you want to be successful is to follow your passion and do what you love.” The strength of this book is that it is a blueprint for figuring out and manifesting how to do just that.
As a self-help book, Dr. Moon’s Consciousness Towards Abundance rises to the top of this category for its sheer voluminous amount of useful information. But it excels in its inspirational reflections on life by the author. This fitting tribute to his guidance, “The future belongs to those who think well, speak well, write well and believe in the beauty of their dreams,” captures the essence of his purpose.
