Something that has become quite a hot topic of debate over the last century in particular has to be the existence of the “supernatural.” The supernatural of course is typically related to the question of spirits, ghosts, demons, cryptids and so much more. Yet the supernatural is simply the unknown elements of our world and Universe, and has become so debated about its true meaning from so many different perspectives, both scientifically as well as from a religious standpoint. Yet there are those who approach this subject either from both perspectives or neither, and as Elbert Hubbard once said, “The supernatural is the natural not yet understood.”
In author Laverne E. Denyer’s Ghosts, Demons & Other Nasties: Psychic Battles Fought and Won, the author takes readers on a journey through her life as a psychic warrior priest, who has taken on a number of spiritual battles to help those who cannot help themselves. From spirits of young children lost and alone, to demonic beings looking to create a foothold in our world, to cults dedicated to the destruction of young women and their bloodlines; the author shares terrifying yet hopeful stories of her battle for good on the spiritual plane, as well as our own.
The author crafted a truly unique and captivating read. Approaching the paranormal from an energy and faith-based POV, the author shared a number of stories covering a wide range of topics in the supernatural studies. Unlike the stuff of fiction, the work done by the author largely delves into energy work and less on cinematic, Hollywood-style fantasy narratives. The stories range from sit-down conversations with friends who have been abducted numerous times in their lives by extraterrestrials, to a young woman who fears for her daughter’s life as a dangerous cult closes in, and a haunting that scares the living and the dead alike. The way the author was able to incorporate paranormal studies that aren’t often looked upon in the larger community, such as thought-forms (energy beings that are not formerly living spirits but beings that were created from a collective belief or conciseness), was so amazing to see come into play in this book.
This is the perfect read for those who enjoy non-fiction books that deal with the real-world study and experiences of paranormal activity and the supernatural as a whole. This is also the best choice for those who approach the paranormal from a faith-based background or viewpoint. I am an avid fan and study the paranormal world, and enjoy getting other people’s perspectives of the subject, something this author did to perfection.
Haunting, engaging, and thought-provoking, author Laverne E. Denyer’s Ghosts, Demons & Other Nasties: Psychic Battles Fought and Won is a must-read book. The perfect balance of personal stories and education in the field of paranormal work, this book and author did a brilliant job of drawing readers in and giving a unique perspective on a hotly debated subject.
