God is Always Present starts with Cincotta being a working-class boy in Brooklyn, New York whose life is changed after joining the Navy. He was in Cuba during an international incident, he promises God to serve Him in his life. He entered the seminary for one year to see if he had a vocation, but did not take a vow. Cincotta moves to Florida to pursue his dream of being a thoroughbred horse trainer. Cincotta also writes about the difficulties and rewards of purchasing and training horses in New York and Florida while providing for his first wife and their four children. He writes about training horses for New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and other memorable horse owners that helped him build his career from coast to coast.
