The year is 2032. Solar shield mirrors are place into the Earth’s orbit with the hope of generating electricity and slowing down the effects of global warming. Kelly O’Rourke is excited to be a part of this big project, but outsiders are trying to abuse the project’s abilities, and those on the inside are working to bend the rules to their whims. O’Rourke and her partner, Jay Bhattacher, are struggling to stop those who threaten the success of the project. Now, O’Rourke, Bhattacher, and UN Security Officer Chang, are sent to track down two con-men throughout the globe from Wuhan to Manhattan, and around the globe to Moscow. Their mission is one which turns to murder, harrowing escapes, and various situations which put their very lives in danger.
Guardians of the Solar Shield is a fast-paced novel which readers will definitely have a hard time putting down. It seems as if there is a twist and turn at every corner, making it difficult if not impossible to predict what is about to happen. This is a perfect example of never knowing what you are going to get when picking up a book, and Sam Bleicher executed his story flawlessly. He delivers a tale which is not only science fiction, but also a suspenseful thriller. While this novel may deal with a lot of scientific elements, readers will not be bogged down with confusing jargon and terminology. Readers are presented with a realistic story which is entertaining and enjoyable to read.
This author provides his audience with not only a story that touches on environmental sustainability, the conflict between career and personal life, but also one that is filled with realistic and believable characters, dialogue, situations, and personal challenges. The pacing of the plot is fast, but it is a natural fast pace, rather than one which feels forced or rushed.
Fans of both science fiction and thrillers will enjoy reading Same Bleicher’s Guardians of the Solar Shield: Earth’s Climate Mirrors Under Attack 2029 – 2037, as there are elements of both genres which make this book truly wonderful. This is a must-read to those who welcome creative, exciting, fresh and original story elements, as each reader will find something new to enjoy.
