The author Roward Holt starts the book by sharing a few details about his life. He writes about his beliefs, his perception of life and the law. He writes decently and captivates the reader. The chapters in the book are not too wordy, and one easily completes the book at a good pace. Every subject the author tackles is well written. Rowald Holt is a fantastic writer who grabbed my attention from the start.
I enjoyed reading the author’s take on Isms. He deeply delved in Capitalism, Fascism and Communism/Bolshevism, Liberalism and Conservatism, and clearly explained the impact they have in the world. The author wrote about Zionism vis-à-vis Judaism, and how most Zionists with a Jewish background hide behind Judaism. Giving historical examples, the author extensively wrote on how Jews are marginalized in some parts of the world, and how it is a concern. I like that he used Aesop’s Fable to expound on World Wars I and II.
Rowald Holt wrote History Debunked with the intent of bringing together victims of war and people who at some point have been segregated. The author wrote this book to talk about the importance of freedom and the right for everyone to freely express themselves, in a world which is full of monsters whose only goal is to control the masses. When talking about fascism vs Zionism and communism vs capitalism, the author used former world leaders like Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Joseph Stalin to illustrate his point. I appreciated his use of the mentioned historical figures to pass across the message as much as their legacy was tainted by their bad deeds.
Reading on, one gets the impression of being in a history class. The author writes about war stories; the two major world wars, politics, economic and social effects of wars, and the role religion plays in all this. The persecution of Jews and Gentiles is a major theme in the book. With the author addressing the problems minority communities in Europe and the Soviet Union faced. Hitler’s hatred for Jews was not justified, as much as the Nazis believed the German dictator had good reasons. The message of shunning ethnic intolerance and embracing our different ideologies was clearly stated in the book.
History Debunked is an excellent book, not only because the author makes the reader understand history, but also because one gets to be enlightened about global affairs. The two world wars are among the major themes in the book. The author scratches the surface and reveals details that are perhaps not known by everyone. I enjoyed reading every part of this book, as I gained a lot of knowledge about European Powers and politics during the 19th and 20th centuries. I appreciate the author’s efforts to encourage love and promote togetherness. The reader gets to be educated about the Holocaust, Russia and Putin, patriotism, America’s influence in global affairs, Zionist Jews and many other things. History Debunked is deservingly a title which history buffs, and well as anyone and everyone interested in how the world got to where it is nowadays should read.
