There is something about British monarchy that makes it stand out among the rest of royalty, there seems to be a general fascination with the members of the British royal family. While some people think the monarchy is a dated system of government, the British Royalty have hinted slightly that should the British citizens decide, they will step aside. That hasn’t happened yet. Queen Elizabeth II is a woman many girls and young women alike look up to. She has become a role model of feminine beauty, grace, and inner strength. Last Great Queen? takes a look at what Queen Elizabeth has done and the accomplishments she achieved and shows women of all ages they too can be an example of beauty, grace, and strength.
Last Great Queen? is one of those books that does not read like a biography or a historical/political book. It tells a story that engages and inspires the readers. It is a book which shows with hard work, dedication, and patience anyone can achieve their goals and become who they want to be. It shows the strength one person can have inside to do things that are considered outside of the ordinary. With lines like “Her transnational influence makes her unavoidable and difficult to ignore by anyone in the world” it is hard not to see how respected and adored this woman is, and Yang does an excellent job at portraying that level of respect in his writing. He gives his readers a clear picture of who the Queen is and what has led her to be the powerhouse of royalty she commands.
Unity Elias Yang’s writing is very clean and crisp. The story isn’t filled with unnecessary information or “fluff,” each scenes transitions well into the next and doesn’t feel chopped up or thrown together. One could tell that the author took the time to research and organize his thoughts in a way that presents his story to readers that will leave them wanting more. He has the capability of bringing his words to life, and making the reader stop and take notice of what he is saying within this book. After reading this book, audiences will gain a better understanding of the British Empire and the Queen. It will be difficult not to admire and respect this woman after reading Yang’s beautifully written work.
Last Great Queen? is a highly well written novel that readers of all genres, especially those who enjoy historical, biographies or anything related to British Royalty, would enjoy because it has a little bit of something for everyone. It will become a book in which readers will recommend to their friends and family. If you enjoy books about British royalty, then Last Great Queen? needs to be added to your collection.
