So many adults and increasingly more youths struggle with anxiety. When you think about what anxiety actually is, it is fear infesting your body, your brain and your nervous system. Christians consider fear to be a sin, as the Lord clearly tells us in the Bible that we have nothing to be afraid of as long as we trust and believe in Him. Leon Collier’s book does a wonderful job explaining how leaning on God and trusting Him can take away all of life’s worries and troubles.
This book is an excellent choice for saved Christians who find themselves struggling with anxiety. Personally, this is a great struggle of mine and it is something I am in fervent prayer about. I learned from Collier that relying on God’s Word and Scripture also helps a great deal! I memorized new verses and keep them in my heart daily – I find myself turning to God first before allowing my body to be totally overcome with worry during anxious situations. Learning to Live Fear Free is also a great text to use within a Bible Study or small group for just about any age of people. Many would benefit from reading this book and diving into the scripture that Collier wisely gathered to show Christians a life with God means a life free of fear.
Collier chooses a variety of Bible versions to pull scripture from making his book appealing to a wider group of Christians. His selections and their explanation are thoughtful and wise, offering the readers new knowledge on every page. Living with anxiety or fear can be incredibly taxing and crippling, however finding security in the Lord is freeing! In our day to day lives it is so easy to forget this truth and fall into a trap of being constantly worried and stressed. However, as saved Christians, we should know that everything is in God’s hands and there truly is nothing to worry about.
Learning to Live Fear Free was an incredibly eye-opening experience for me and I learned so much, not only about scripture but also about myself. This book is powerful and can change the lives of many. I believe young Christians can benefit a great deal from this book, though it is perfect for just about any age. I would love to see more topics attacked by Collier’s knowledge in scripture and life experiences – his instructions were a great blessing to me and in turn to my family.
