Blinders, whether tangible or metaphorical, prevent us from true understanding. They block our ability to discern, or see. Dr. Mosley writes, “God says that we are to live by faith and not by sight.” That is the premise of this book that we should take the gospel, as gospel, and live our lives according to His word, in the non-secular, not secular realm. To do this, he continues, “We have been instructed as to how we should live. There is an instruction book that holds all of the answers about human beings.”
This book, of course, is the Bible, from which he quotes extensively. Part and parcel of understanding and embracing the Word is that we will be in God’s grace, not just in this living world but after death, too. The author explains, “Everyone must stand before God to give an account for everything you and I have done …” so it is imperative to live a Christian faith-based life.
How to do that is explained by Dr. Mosley. He has an exhaustive understanding of the Bible, both Old and New Testament. He supports each of his opinions with relevant scripture passages, the why of his thoughts enhanced by germane excerpts.
This is a guide, a guide to leading a life that is pleasing to God. At the heart of this missive is the author’s call to readers to recognize that the glory of eternal life begins in this life with the choices we make every day. And those choices must be inspired by an understanding of Christ. He says, “We cannot know the person who created us or who we are unless we read what’s revealed to us in this book. The Bible will either exonerate us or convict or condemn us.” God’s judgment, after death, is predicated on taking off our blinders to God’s message and embracing it. “Faith is belief in action.”
If this is a first introduction to this type of content, for a reader, it is quite accessible. Dr. Mosley’s writing is succinct and compelling. It is inspiring, evoking a thoughtful awakening to his viewpoint. For the reader who is well-versed in Christian doctrine, this book is a reminder God calls us to be obedient to Him and that, “The only way we can learn of God’s plan is totally from His written Word — the Bible.”
For those seeking a greater understanding of the point, or purpose, of their life, Dr. Mosley has written quite a worthy companion for that type of spiritual journey. It’s also a righteous discourse for those who might be looking for a spiritual recharge.
