Shepherd’s Horizons is a quick read, but it packs a punch with plot developments, interesting characters, and thrilling scenes unfolding throughout the story. This is a book that leaves the reader wondering if there will be more to the story; the hopes of a sequel or series. There is plenty of information within this tale to encompass more novels. The masterful way Kelly writes leaves his readers wanting more of his work. If a reader has never read a science fiction novel before there may be a few things that one would stumble over, but overall there is not one thing that will disappoint readers in this rousing character driven epic saga. Kelly creates an alien race that is like no other, one whose descriptions make readers cringe with fear.
Impressive to the core of it all, fans of shows like Star Trek or other series like the Jacob’s Ladder trilogy would enjoy reading this book. Shepherd’s Horizons is definitely will become a timeless classic and the perfect book for any science fiction lover, or a good introduction to those who haven’t read the genre before.
