She teaches, through an eclectic selection of short stories, poems, Soul Scripts and inspiring Bible scriptures, the Way to a relationship with God. The first step, “to walk meekly as a servant.”
This means letting go of ego and free will and embracing a “spiritual do-over” that begins with trusting and surrendering to God and believing that His blessing will come through obedience to the Him. It’s not easy. The ever-present specter of Satan is never far, strafing the path with pitfalls and stumbling blocks. This book, by Dr. Ball, is a primer on how to win this war. She opens our eyes to the trials faced by biblical heroes: David, King of Israel and God’s anointed one; the Apostles Peter and Paul; and the faithful Queen Esther and their triumphs. Just as important, though, Dr. Ball showcases through dramatic storytelling the unsung and uncelebrated who struggle to live a faith-based life and succeed.
This book is a call to action. It is not subtle. The tone is pleading, earnest, and persistent because the consequence of not creating a relationship with God is dire, there is no “ticket to eternal life,” there is no “access to phenomenal spiritual power.” She entreats with us to “rewrite your story — a story that ends with closing your eyes to evil and opening your eyes to peace.”
