When people think about creative fields of study and career goals, there are very specific professions which people think about. Whether it be a writer, a musician, an artist, or an actor, creative fields are well known in the public eye. Yet there are some professions which are highly dependent on creativity, and one of those fields is in the culinary world. The work that a chef puts into creating dishes is one of the most creative means of expression, especially in our modern world. As Chef Ranveer Brar once said, “If you’re a happy person around food, you can be a professional chef. It’s fueled by passion.”

In author Trebbiano’s Tales: Volume 2, the author continues to explore a fulfilling life as a chef and romantic with a series of stories based upon true events. A fusion of memoir and fiction, the author explores the memorable and iconic moments of his own adventures and life; from marriage and life at sea to fatherhood and so much more. Through this fictional infusion into the memoirs and experiences of his life, the author hopes to open the reader’s mind and shed the social mentalities which can be held back by a person’s own beliefs or upbringing and find a means of peacefully coexisting with one another.

This is a long yet brilliant read. The stories told within were told in such a unique and memorable writing style. The book honestly reads as if the reader was sitting at the writer’s feet, listening to an older relative spinning tales of their life and adding small yet memorable embellishments that would make the experience he was sharing with you something you would never forget. In other words, the narrative felt personal and engaging, and made the reader feel connected to the author’s life and memories in a much more intimate way.

The author’s book definitely will be a hit with those who enjoy fiction and memoirs that add or utilize fictional elements in the narrative. It will also appeal to those who enjoy personal stories of life, adventure, and even learning more about the culinary world and those who work in it. I thoroughly enjoyed connecting to the author’s story and found the imagery and atmosphere the author crafted to be thoughtfully put together.

Memorable, engaging, and beautifully written, author Trebbiano’s Tales: Volume 2 is a must-read book and a thoughtful blend of fiction-meets-memoir. The stories and theme of family and adventure runs smoothly throughout the narrative, and the style of writing allowed readers to really feel connected to the author’s life and experiences, making for a very personal read.
