The Blue Orb is a great fantasy novel which has extraordinary characters and out-of-this-world events. The reader gets caught up with the story because of how amazing the author is with the narration. Author Suzy Vivian is not only artistically skilled, she is also a talented narrator. While reading Suzy Vivian’s book, one is able to follow the action, drama, and all activities the characters engage in without a struggle. The main storyline is compelling to follow as the reader gets hooked on factions that are either for good or evil. The battle scenes, chaos, disagreements, and conflicts in the book were intense and intriguing. The Blue Orb is an engrossing book with a thrilling plot that any fantasy reader would love.
The story follows the lives of a young lady, a wizard, and other witches who made the book interesting from the start. Enter Zarcon, a great wizard who apart from using his powers, has a fear of the witches. Zarcon is not the only person avoiding the witches. The young girl, Jasmine, has the orb which the witches are in need of. This artifact is important to the witches as it makes them feel extra powerful. Jasmine has to team up with Zarcon to protect the orb. The two have to use clever tactics to avoid the wild witches. The witches are lethal, they will hit anyone who comes on their way. I like how the author portrayed the rogue characters. One could feel their energies from within and even appear as if they are part of their fights.
Jasmine and Zarcon stood out for me in the book. Their cooperation and how they planned their journey were not only fascinating to read about, but also makes the reader realize how important it is to team up with someone when you need help. The conversations in the book was another thing that stood out for me. The words characters used when angry, happy, emotional, and even sad were distinct and brought different moods for the reader. There are several themes in the book which made the story impressive. Some of the major themes in the book are romance, magic, power, friendship, and drama. Every character played their role perfectly, however, I feel like the author could have given the mist beast more roles. The Blue Orb is the kind of book which puts you on edge and makes you forget about the real world as you turn every page.
Suzy Vivian is amazing in her art. The author’s mind is creative and her characters are properly developed and make the reader fall in love with the story more. The mystery of some characters, suspense when narrating, and conclusion are some of the elements in this book that make it a great fantasy read. The author went through great strides to make both the story and characters different from others books of the same genre.
