In author Lisa Boomhower’s The Crown of Unity, a young witch finds herself in the midst of a battle to save a crumbling kingdom as a nefarious King sets his eyes on her to be his bride, all the while she is conspiring with a former prince and a light witch to save the people and take down a corrupt ruler. A realm filled with fantastical creatures and magic, this is the story of a facing adversity through a unified front and overcoming the past for a brighter future.
This is a fast paced and creative read. The author does a great job of establishing quickly a vast realm filled with magical creatures and fantasy-style storytelling. One thing readers may notice is there are some grammatical errors, however it actually makes the story feel more like a medieval tale which would have read back in the day, adding a bit more authenticity to the story’s plot line and theme.
This is a book for anyone who enjoys fictional tales, fantasy, and driven narratives. As a fan of the genres it was easy to get engaged in the character’s development and the growing battle to unite the kingdoms of this realm. The story really played to the strengths of the genre and built a solid mythology which readers will truly enjoy.
Overall, this was a fantastic and incredible read. Filled with a larger than life tale that jumpstarts the beginnings of a new saga of fantasy driven stories, author Lisa Boomhower has created a wonderful mythology that will take readers back to an almost medieval setting filled with fantasy driven creatures and magic galore.
