Istener, The Holy Spirit Calling: A 40 Year Journey with The Holy Spirit, brings forth an intriguing collection of encouraging verses and statements, which serves to assure spiritual devotees of God’s remaining presence in life.

Notably, this is not the first book of its kind, as a matter of fact, historically, there have been other Listener(s), who have had similar experiences and are referred by the author for further exploration. Those chosen also followed the same commissioned path as A.L. Istener, by documenting and publishing their communications with the divine spirit. Each work dutifully promotes a unique perspective on fomenting a relationship with the divine of which this work in particular expresses well.

Moreover, this is a multi-faceted, multi-purpose work which serves not only to inspire but to comfort and re-instill faith. This is a book which serves to empower the overall emotional and spiritual well-being with its often-poetic messages and soul stirring statements. Stemming from over 40 years of communications from the Holy Spirit the book is published by the cleverly named A. L. Istener, who although active in the church is not an expert in the theologies of the Holy Spirit but “Listened” to the words of the Holy Spirit as they came to him, leading him to transcribe and publish this spiritually inspiring culmination of guideposts. Consequently, while this is not a work of great scholarship garnered through years of study, it is just as important as it aptly provides enlightened, inspiration, comfort and solace in a world where chaos and negativity can most certainly destroy faith in oneself and a faithful relationship with God.

As a matter of fact, this spiritually freeing book, organized in dated order, includes messages that are titled while others are just dated. In all, these messages serve to leave an indelible impression on the soul, not only when considering the divine source, but also through the nature of the many messages, such as; You Are Imbued with the Spirit of Freedom and 5/23/89 releasing preconceived notions of God, God is multifaceted and comes in many colors his sign is the rainbow. Also, included are many other spiritually encouraging messages, including the elements of self-love others, opening your heart, helping others in need, and unconditional love towards all, even for those one would consider unworthy.

The Holy Spirit Calling: A 40 Year Journey With The Holy Spirit published through A.L. Istener turned out to be an authentically earnest work, which I enjoyed engaging with. This work is truly worthy of adding to one’s spiritual library, promising to inspire and empower readers to experience the fullness of their faith.  From the book’s outset I found much encouragement, inspiration and solace within its passages and do recommend this work to others looking for spiritual guidance and encouragement in today’s chaotic world.
