After reading The Lamb of God, the reader gets to understand things such as the meaning of life, the existence of God, miracles, and finding purpose and satisfaction within life. I have always been curious about the afterlife. What really happens after death? Do people get to live afresh or does everything end? Reading this book made me understand what goes on after our hearts stop beating. The author based his discussion on religion, emphasizing on the love God has for his people and why there is nothing mightier than the creator.
One of my favorite parts of the book was when the author wrote about his story. I enjoyed reading as he narrated about his childhood and growing up in Avondale Hill in Plymouth Township. I found it interesting that while growing up, there was no police chief/local police force and not even a locally administered government in their community. It was lovely that the nuclear family was the norm in the community. His father was hardworking, which is admirable. His mother and siblings were loving too. Life was, of course, different during those years but his parents ensured that they lived comfortably. The author sure treasured his family.
I enjoyed this book, as the author wrote like he was having a one on one conversation with his readers. Going through the book, I was impressed by John Mahon’s words and even felt his presence virtually because of how well he explained his points. John Mahon will help you clear any doubt you have with your life, and enable you to see things as he believes they are. I enjoyed this book because apart from giving me hope, I was assured that God will always have my back no matter the situation. Every now and then we need affirmation that things will be okay; this book gave me the confidence I need and motivated me to live as God intended me to.
The Lamb of God is an everyday guide on living right and doing good. Through this book, you will be able to reflect on the way you handle things and what you can do to be better those who live with you. There is also the message of the love which God shares with his children. By emulating him, we live how he wants. There is nothing greater than love in this world. The author reminds us to be generous and nice to others.
Religion, the human mind, consciousness, science, and love are some of the things that keep the Universe going. On the chapter about modernity, the author talked about the complexities of life and how money can drive one away from God. I appreciate that he noted how money has become an idol in today’s world. One of the many lessons he shared in this chapter is the need to become productive wherever we are. This book is refreshing and eye-opening. I recommend The Lamb of God to any reader who is looking for a light read that will help in self-improvement and have a closer relationship with God.
