Entanglement in modern worldly life is easy, but simultaneously complicated, considering while living as part of the fray, sometimes we lose touch with that all important connection to God; resulting in losing touch with the chance to experience a happier, more fulfilling life. For the spiritual seeker whose desires a better life, the journey from living a worldly life to a Christian life requires the death of the mindset of the previously worldly self, and a resurrection of the most Christ-like self. This is the blueprint of which is competently exemplified in author Anthony L. Walker’s empowering book, Transformation: Living a Christian Life.By examining Christian based principles, Walker provides true inspiration through his work with his guidebook, within which he posits that everyone should realign with God for a better life and salvation. Albeit, while the path set forth in living a Christian life is never simple in a world driven by materialism, separatism, and selfishness. Walker makes understanding the necessary mentality to go forth in that path, intelligible. His work in this book is thorough, well-written, lucid, relatable, and supported through references to relevant scripture – based illustrations, as well as pertinent testimonials.
Wholly comprehensive in its scope, the book is divided into seven parts, each one an equally important bible lesson that aids in bringing clarity to the journey to salvation while using the word of God as the guideposts. Each section brings a different topic into focus, including; The Word, God, Sin, Salvation, Christianity, Life Lessons, and personal Testimony. What is particularly interesting about this book is not just the subject matter, but also the easy going tone and overall intelligent presentation which allows for moments of discovery and spiritual connection. Although all the information contained in the book bears importance, there were several chapters that turned out to be especially intriguing They are; Chapter 3: Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth, expounds on classifying scripture, Chapter 6: The Dual Nature of Jesus, discusses the dual nature of Jesus as both human and spirit and Chapter 19: Once Saved Always Saved? an exploration of the Once Saved, Always Saved Doctrine.
Altogether, Transformation: Living a Christian Life, turned out to be an edifying and fascinating read which I thoroughly enjoyed. Author Anthony L. Walker writes with expertise and scholarly conviction, but not in an overwhelming fashion. I was held rapt by his thorough examination of transforming from a worldly life to a Christian life and do recommend this book to those seeking a more spiritual and satisfying life.
