No matter what your political identification is; be it red, blue or purple, there is something for everyone which will have you laughing out loud in E. M. Fintan’s illustrated political cartoon collection titled Trump – Laugh or Cry. In fact, I laughed so much my eyes actually watered while paging some of the illustrations!
From cartoon characterizations of the genre one would see framed on the wall at Sardis’s Restaurant in New York City, to captioned illustrations in the style of The New Yorker magazine, to utterly absurd and hilarious satire, Trump – Laugh or Cry will captivate your attention as humor is universal regardless on which side of the aisle your political views are seated. Mocking Trump is the essence of the root of each cartoon, which is ideal for the never-Trumpsters, yet even the MAGAmaniacs will get a kick out of the sarcasm and characterizations of Trump’s idiosyncrasies which everyone has come to know.
There is a cartoon with Trump with hookers in Russia, complimenting their room service; one with him grouping a woman’s breasts with the caption saying “My policy has always been to stop and frisk.” A few showing him cheating on the golf course, dropping the ball out of the rough or into the hole. One of Putin pulling his strings like a puppet, and of course all of Trump’s political friends and enemies are characterized. My all-time favorite is one of Trump standing next to the Queen of England, with the caption saying, well, you got to read it to believe it…. it’s very funny.
E. M. Fintan has a well-honed artistic talent with his unique caricatures and illustrations synergistically coming together on each page. His talents are both mature in artistic drawing and well-seasoned with his embedded inherent humor, sarcasm and comedy in exposing the accented personality attributes of Donald Trump.
This is a trophy book of timely political satire; one in which readers’ natural instincts would be to share among their friends – to laugh together. Although focused on the initial two or so years of Trump’s presidency, there is a wealth of material Fintan has compiled. The best part is if and when the Trump dynasty continues, there will be no doubt sequels to this collection of ingenious material. So, no matter if you love him or hate him, you’ll love this book! It’s “Really, Really” funny.
