It is always fun to learn new words, or in this case, an entire expression, “What The Fasnarf?” What does that mean? Is it good or bad? Readers will get an understanding of just exactly how this expression is used in this funny and whimsical children’s book by author Roger Marjadsingh titled, very appropriately, What The Fasnarf?

In this fanciful story readers are introduced to a young boy named Rob, who claims to be seeing a big, hairy monster! The monster was going to grab his dog, pick up his sister from her playpen, push his dad into the swimming pool, and grab his mom at the grocery store. Each time Rob hit or threw something at the monster, and the beast said, “What The Fasnarf?” and then instantly disappeared. Rob came out victorious each and every time.

But where did this monster come from and what is it up to? Rob goes to see a psychiatrist, Doctor Ross, to find out some answers. Rob explains each of the sightings, whereas each incident is graphically illustrated to enhance the readers’ visualization of the storyline by artistic pictures, and what Doctor Ross comes up with will surprise every reader! No, I won’t spoil it in this review, but it is worth buying the book to see just what happens!

As fun with made-up words between parents and children often brings smiles and laughs to children, especially with the word “Fasnarf,” how silly can it be? Kids, and parents alike will undoubtably laugh and giggle when reading this humorously funny book together, and the punch line will never get old.

What The Fasnarf? Is a clever and original children’s book in which kids will often reach for to be read at bedtime because it is monstrously funny. It will make a cherished addition to all family libraries and enjoyed by each generation – of parents and children alike.
