Author, poet, and composer, Jane Summers, has compiled a multi-genre book of poetry, piano music (links to MP3 files), along with biographical information such as her personal photo gallery and a listing of awards and achievements. It is an amazing book interleaved with captivating photos of nature throughout the poetry section, along with graphically beautiful use of fonts and a ‘golden confetti filter’ effect. In essence, the ornate presentation of her book reflects the minutia of detail inherent in her Indian culture with her use of many intricacies of make-up, jewelry, colors and shapes.

Her poetry collection is just over 100 poems reflecting insights to life as juxtaposed against the seasons of nature, the changing fauna, and colors of the Earth. Peacefully paced with short passages, she embarks on a journey through the phases of life, love, respect for people and nature; all with a polished sensitivity and with the utmost respect for her reading audience. One gets an awareness of how deep her emotions are rooted and how her education and life experiences have bestowed wealth and happiness upon her, her husband, and their family.

It is impossible to choose a favorite poem, but as an fine illustration of Summer’s use of colors, I have an excerpt of her poem titled “Sunrise, a summer began!” She writes, “A sunrise / White and a slight yellow / Glimpses of sunrise rays / through several branches, a tree / A border, a moon, a / White, a circle, my sour / Yellow my sunrise, early, summers!” It is a poem, or many similar, which I believe enabled the author to adopt the pen name of “Summer.”

Her gallery at the end shows scores of pictures of her with her husband and other family at home and traveling to locations. Her book ends with hyperlinks to her marketing websites; one for merchandise, one for books, and also a series of podcasts. All in all, this book is a treasure of personal information about the author, which will appeal to not only persons who know the author, but to readers who like to be introduced to the remarkable talent of people to share in the celebration of their artistic, poetic and original thoughts on life, love and family. Woods, A Summer Weave is written all through the kaleidoscope of nature and the colors of the Earth.
